21.07.2010 Nightwish summer camp - report #2
Tuomas wrote to Nightwish summer camp diary:
The 1st week is almost through and we`re off to a fantastic start.
Jukka, Emppu and me have 5 songs rehearsed so far, Marco joined the camp last night after a couple of festival shows he did with Tarot.
We'll start putting the low ends into those songs later today and maybe try out tune #6.
The first song put together ended up having one of the best choruses we've ever had and a classic Nightwishy c-part of heavy guitars, a massive string riff and everything louder than anything and everybody playing with full force at the same time.
Trademark stuff.
Song # 2 is a twisted marriage of Van Halen, Pantera and madhouse vocals. And Quentin Tarantino - guitars in the bridge. We weren't overly bananas over this one after the demo I made alone, but now it's finally coming alive.
In between the distorted racket we sat down with Emppu to complete one acoustic piece. A nice journey back to the roots! Sounds like a Moomin Valley - Christmas carol.
Then another song back to the roots. Everyone's surprise favorite at the moment. I dug up my inner Paradise Lost / My Dying Bride fanboy and this funeral march is the result.
Music for the last song rehearsed so far is written by Marco. A wonderfully catchy track with the chorus repeated 5 times. (!!) Must be some sort of a record for us. Nice acoustic themes and a d-part which doesn't quite still fit in. We'll enter The Haunted Mansion tomorrow.

17.07.2010 Nightwish summer camp - report #1
Nightwish guys gathered at the idyllic village Sävi, yesterday.
It is almost exactly four years after the last summer camp, where they arranged last album "Dark Passion Play".
Anette will join the camp a bit later.
Guys opened Nightwish summer camp 2010 with raising Nightwish camp flag. The first days of summer camp will be concentrated on chilling out and catching up. Later they will start rehearsing new songs and recording a new demo album.
Tuomas has completed 12 songs, but he is still working on some lyrics. When they recod demo album and the songs are arranged and all materials are perfect, they will give demo to Mr. Pip Williams so he can start with the orchestration process. The actual enter-the-studio-date is set for October 15th. Again, the London orchestra and choir will be there, as well as Mr. Troy Donockley playing a slightly bigger part this time.

If you are a Facebook friend with Tuomas, Emppu, Jukka, Anette or Marco, you should know that all those
"Tuomas Holopainen", "Emppu Vuorinen", "Jukka Nevalainen", "Anette Olzon" or "Marco Hietala" profiles are FAKE!
All FAN sites are ok, but there are lot of profiles made by person who is acting like he (or she) really is,
for example, Tuomas. This is not acceptable.If somebody from Nightwish band decide to start their own Facebook (or whatever...) profile, we will inform you about it.
13.06.2010 "Amaranth" video will make its prime-time debut in the USA
The "Amaranth" video will be played on a network called Reelz Channel on a program called Movies & Music (the evening edition),
as part of an episode entitled "Rocker Girls". The show will be on air on Monday, 14th of June.This is a result of a campaign started at North American Nightwish fan club Oceansouls of America where people requested Nightwish videos at this network channel.

Latest news for all Nightwish fans about upcomong Nightwish album.
- - Tuomas demo is finished and ready,
- - in july-september the band will rehearse the songs together and do a final demo,
- - in fall 2010 the studio recordings starts.

21.04.2010 Tarot's new album 'Gravity Of Light'
Tarot has album "Gravity Of Light" and is going to be released outside of Finland and all over Europe this friday (24.04.2010)!
For those who are new to the band, Tarot consists of Marco Hietela and his brother Zachary, Tommi Salmela, Janne Tolsa and Pecu Cinnari. The album went straight to #2 in the official Finnish charts, so be sure to give it a listen!
